SMS Locksmiths Wimbledon is part of the SMS Locksmiths group, a London locksmith service operating since 2014. We are the data controller for any personal data collected through this website.

What we collect and why
If you call us
We collect the phone number you call from, the postcode of the job, and a description of what you need. We use this to dispatch the right locksmith. We do not record calls. Lawful basis: contract (taking steps to provide the service you have asked for).
If you email us
We see whatever is in your message including your email address. We use it to reply and arrange the job. Lawful basis: contract.
If you use the website without contacting us
If you accept analytics cookies on the banner, we use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation enabled to understand which pages get used and how visitors arrive. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google. Lawful basis: consent.
Cookies
We only set cookies if you click "Accept" on the consent banner. Until then, no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no third-party cookies are set.

Who else sees your data
- Cloudflare hosts this website and provides edge security. They process technical request data (IP address, browser headers) for routing and DDoS protection. Cloudflare privacy policy.
- Google processes anonymised analytics data if you accept cookies. Google privacy policy.
- Your assigned locksmith receives the job details (postcode, contact number, description) to attend the job.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it outside the parties named above.
How long we keep your data
- Phone records and job notes: 6 years (HMRC requirement for trade records)
- Email correspondence: 6 years for trade-related threads, otherwise as long as needed to handle your enquiry
- Analytics data in Google Analytics: 14 months (configurable in GA4)
- Cookie consent preference: Until you clear browser storage
Your rights under UK GDPR
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what data we hold about you (access)
- Correct anything that is wrong (rectification)
- Delete what we no longer need to keep (erasure)
- Restrict how we use it (restriction)
- Give you a copy in a portable format (portability)
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest (objection)
Email info@sms-wimbledon-locksmith.co.uk with "Privacy request" in the subject. We will respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection.

We may update this notice. The last update date is shown below. If we make material changes we will publish a note on the homepage for at least 30 days.
